Intex Challenger K2 Kayak Review

The Intex Challenger K2 Kayak holds a special place in the hearts of many long-time keen Kayakers of today.

Particularly because this specific kayak is typically the starting kayak that people who are looking to get into the hobby usually obtain due to its low cost, durable and reliable design.

And with this, this kayak also holds a special place in my heart since this is also one of the first kayaks I every first purchased due to the reasons I have just stated, so I thought that I had to at least give it a recommendation in a review of mine and hopefully paddle someone in the direction of making this their first reliable inflatable kayak.

Usually, at this point, I'm telling you how great this kayak is and comparing it with similar inflatables on the market but in my honest opinion, at this price range...

There is nothing that compares to this raft, in terms of its quality and the affordability

So let's get into it,

Here is my no fluff Intex Challenger K2 Kayak Review...

How does the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak paddle?

Designed for two people but as we usually say on this website, even if you're going solo it means there's just more leg room for you, allowing you to take a quick nap in on mild lakes and rivers! Speaking of which, this is exactly what the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak was made for, calm lakes and rivers, due to the companies vinyl construction of the kayak.

Although to some this seems to be a dropback, as it appears to limit what you can do with the kayak, you have to remember that this special inflatable kayak has been made for beginners who, at first, should be getting to grips with paddling their boats in mild conditions!

So if you're are beginning as a solo or as duo and arent looking to paddle in extreme conditions and would much rather chill out with a friend and explore your local lakes and rivers on still and calm waters then the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak is going to be an ideal for you!

Intex Challenger K2 Kayak - Key Features

To give you an even better understand of why the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak is absolutely best for beginners and people looking to have calm and relaxing adventures, I'm going to delve into the key features of the kayak as appose to my own opinions, so you can gain a solid idea of how worth it this kayak is.

Grab Line

Moving the kayak is half the battle, especially once you've inflated it onshore and need to move it into a bed of water but with the grab line, which has been featured on both sides for convenience, this kayak will be simple to move and will effortlessly allow you to take the kayak in and out of the water.

Cargo Net

At the front of the kayak there is a fairly large piece of netting, this allows you to store things such as flip-flops and sandals and should be used for items that you don't mind getting wet, or at least items that will be protected from the water (such as a phone which has been placed in a plastic bag)

Removable Skeg

Underneath the raft, there is a skeg which has been redesigned due to feedback from previous iterations of this style of the kayak with the ability to be able to be removed if needed. This simply slides and clicks in and out of place.

Aluminum Kayak Oars

With this inflatable kayak, you will also get two aluminium oars which are both 84-inches in length and can be broken down into two parts, so that you can easily carry these in hand, in the kayak when not in use or in the car on your way to your favourite lake or river spot.

High-capacity Pump

Included, is a simple to use hand pump which features a compact design, easily fitted to the pump and then into the kayak.

Although, due to its compact design it also takes a little while for the entire kayak to be inflated this just means you'll have more time picking your entry point into the river or allows for quick snack break whilst you wait.

Standard Repair Kit

As standard with any kayak you purchase online, the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak comes with a repair kit for any problems you may encounter, offer you quick fix to your issues so you can get back out then and continue to enjoy your time alone or with your partner.

"Is the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak for me?"

Now as always, only you can decide that and hopefully in this review I have laid out the key factors which will hopefully sway you into purchasing this inflatable kayak; I say 'hopefully' since I think its a great kayak for beginners and for anyone looking to start kayaking.

However, lets get into some more points as to why the Intex Kayak might be for you...

As I stated at the beginning of this review, this kayak is abruptly the best option you're going to have on today's market in terms of affordability if you're just a beginner, as ideally when you start doing something, well actually anything in life, you don't even know if you like doing the exact thing you so it would be ideal to keep costs down, and with this kayak you will.

More on the fact this is ideal for beginners, the kayak is also easy to move due to the grab line and is also designed to for calm waters, which is what you should be going in if you're a beginner, to help build up confidence in yourself and your ability.

Designed to seat two people, this inflatable kayak is ideal for two people, whether that's you and your partner or with a child of yours. But, with its removable seat design, you can effortlessly move one of the seats and create your self some great leg room and even extra storage space for a backpack or a pair of shoes.
